Head of Minor Works
Business Area: Infrastructure
Place of Work: Reigate/London
Contract Type: Permanent
Osborne is one of the leading construction businesses in the UK. As a family-owned business, we have the freedom and flexibility to take a different approach. We focus on creating structures and spaces that provide an environment for people to thrive in and solutions for our customers that provide a better experience during the creation. From rail to road, housing to healthcare, however large the project or contract, we know that it is always personal to the people who use it and those that are responsible for it.
We provide an inclusive environment which is aligned to our core values of Quality, Integrity, Openness, Caring and Progressive. We value everyone as an individual and provide the opportunity to influence and change the way that we do things to ensure that we progress and evolve as a business. As a responsible employer we are also committed to promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of all our staff at all times.
We have a great opportunity to join our Infrastructure business to head up our Rail Minor Works programme. The role will take full accountability for the commercial and delivery performance of a business area which turns over approx. £25million per annum covering works across the South East. The role will be a key interface into the client and provide leadership both internally to teams who support the delivery of works, and externally promoting the Osborne brand at all times. You will ensure that these teams are engaged, motivated and working collaboratively to achieve success.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a progressive leader who understands how to lead a diverse group within a civil engineering environment, ideally from a fast moving, small works operation. You will understand how a business works and the importance of both strategic direction, and operational excellence in ensuring we meet our contractual requirements. You will be able to liaise with a wide spectrum of stakeholders both internally and externally, and have great relationship building skills. A passion for safety is a must, as is an approach of continuous improvement, understanding how to create and influence change when and where required. You will also be commercially astute and have experience of contracts management and have had direct P&L responsibility.
This is a great opportunity to take on a business leadership role within a growing part of the Osborne business and provide exposure to the wider group and the peer learning that will grow you both personally and professionally.
